Strawberry-Basil Infused Margarita Rimmed with Sriracha Salt Recipe

This margarita will change the way that you do tequila. The freshly muddled strawberries and basil give this drink a fresh and strikingly unique character that leaves you feeling refreshed and satisfied. The soda/tonic water presents a nice touch of bubbles to add to the uniqueness of this cocktail. And lastly, the finishing touch of our very own Sriracha Salt provides a subtle salty and spicy flavor to incomparably compliment the sweet burn of the strawberry-basil-infused tequila.
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces tequila (blanco)
 - 4 strawberries (or more to taste)
 - 2 leaves fresh basil
 - 2 ounces fresh lime juice
 - 1 ounce soda/tonic water
 - Splash of simple syrup (Equal parts of sugar and water, heated so that sugar dissolves, then cooled)
 - Sriracha Salt
 - *Can add a touch of strawberry puree for a sweeter margarita if wanted*
 
Method:
- Dampen rim of glass and apply Gustus Vitae Sriracha Salt
 - Place basil leaves and strawberries in mixing glass
 - Muddle basil leaves and strawberries several times, extracting juice and flavor
 - Add tequila, followed by lime juice, soda/tonic water, and simple syrup
 - Shake and mix
 - Fill salted glass with ice
 - Pour mixture over ice
 - Garnish with strawberry, fresh basil, or lime
 - Enjoy!
