Sometimes it's fun to pull out a really complicated recipe, and spend the better part of the day assembling all of the various ingredients, methodically working through all of the steps and processes, really diving deep.
Today is not one of those days. We've got our hands on some fresh shrimp from the Pacific Northwest, and we're going to give it the respect it deserves by ever-so-lightly seasoning and searing. Our Pacific Seafood Seasoning is the perfect accent to the shrimp's naturally fresh, subtly sweet taste, bringing out the best in it's flavor without being overpowering. Same goes for a quick pan sear: just a couple minutes on a really hot pan will give you the sear you're looking for, but lock in the juiciness and flavor. Best part: you go from fridge to table in under 15 minutes.
Let's get cooking!
- 3 Lbs Fresh shrimp
- 3 Tbs Unsalted butter
- 4 Tbs Pacific Seafood Seasoning
- 1 Green onion
- Bonus Points: 1 Sprig fresh parsley
- Napkins. Lots and lots of napkins.
- Rinse shrimp, and pat dry. We recommend keeping the heads on - you'll get a much more juicy and flavorful shrimp if you do.
- Finely dice green onion.
- Once shrimp are dry, toss in a large bowl with the Pacific Seafood Seasoning and green onion, evenly coating.
- Crank up the burner to high, and bring a large pan up to high heat.
- Working in batches, a a Tbs of butter and 1 Lb of the shrimp. Cook for around 1 1/2 minutes per side.
- Serve in a large bowl, and go to town. This is a great meal for kids: peeling the shrimps is fun and takes a minute to do. There's no getting around this being a fun & messy meal - plan on lots of napkins!
