We've been working on this for a while, we're proud to finally be releasing our Smoked Espresso Sea Salt, a just-the-right-balance blend of gourmet Italian roasted espresso powder and our signature Pacific Ocean Sea Salt, smoked low and slow for a seasoning with an incredible richness and depth that's matched only by it's versatility. Our first thoughts on how to use this bold seasoning tended towards the sweet: we've been delighting in homemade affogatos, sprinkling on protein shakes after a morning workout, dusting our cookies just before serving, and using in place of plain salt in our cake and pastry mixes to add bold color and authentic coffee flavor. We're branched out into the world of savory, using the spice blend as a rub and marinade for steaks, enjoying just how superbly the coffee flavor enhances our favorite cuts. It's perfect too with pork, contrasting that meat's natural sweetness. But the killer one: using our smoky espresso salt as the base for a mole sauce. It's out of this world good, and it's now well and truly the key ingredient in our newest 'old secret family recipe' collection of meals we go back to again and again.
