Strawberry-Basil Infused Margarita Rimmed with Sriracha Salt Recipe

This margarita will change the way that you do tequila. The freshly muddled strawberries and basil give this drink a fresh and strikingly unique character that leaves you feeling refreshed and satisfied. The soda/tonic water presents a nice touch of bubbles to add to the uniqueness of this cocktail. And lastly, the finishing touch of our very own Sriracha Salt provides a subtle salty and spicy flavor to incomparably compliment the sweet burn of the strawberry-basil-infused tequila.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces tequila (blanco)
  • 4 strawberries (or more to taste)
  • 2 leaves fresh basil
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce soda/tonic water
  • Splash of simple syrup (Equal parts of sugar and water, heated so that sugar dissolves, then cooled)
  • Sriracha Salt
  • *Can add a touch of strawberry puree for a sweeter margarita if wanted*


Method:

  1. Dampen rim of glass and apply Gustus Vitae Sriracha Salt
  2. Place basil leaves and strawberries in mixing glass
  3. Muddle basil leaves and strawberries several times, extracting juice and flavor
  4. Add tequila, followed by lime juice, soda/tonic water, and simple syrup
  5. Shake and mix
  6. Fill salted glass with ice
  7. Pour mixture over ice
  8. Garnish with strawberry, fresh basil, or lime
  9. Enjoy!
